How is the work life balance for a full time engineer at SubCom? I like what you work on and with, and the people there seem wonderful, but I need my 8 hours of sleep.
You are encouraged to speak to Meet The Subconscious Team. You can get their contacts from SubCom LinkedIn Page. Our attendance data shows that most employees spend 35 to 40 hours a week in the office. We feel that it is slightly less than ideal and would like this to improve a bit.
How many hours a week would an intern be expected to put in, and will there be any provision for exams?
As far as working hours are concerned, interns are no different than the full time employee except the fact that we don’t give them any time critical job unless we are confident that they will deliver on time and is willing to take responsibility. For exams, they can apply for leave for as many days it is required out of which a maximum of 4 days will be considered paid leave.
What would the timeline look like for the internship, and for any performance review that may precede a full time job offer?
We usually make a FTE offer around two months or earlier into the internship. If you don’t hear from us about FTE within 2 months of internship, that usually means that your performance is below par and we are unlikely to make FTE offer. Performance review during internship is very informal.
